Elina Kähkönen is the head of integrated entrepreneurship teaching at Aalto Venture Program and the head of Aaltonaut minor program. Both programs share the ambition to develop teaching in Aalto toward student centricity and multidisciplinary interaction between students and teachers.
Elina’s background is in chemistry: She worked ten years in chemical industry and did my Doctoral thesis on sustainability guidance impacts in product development. Multidisciplinary interaction and sustainability in product development have been a combining themes throughout her career. She’s strongly committed in bringing competences related to these themes for the student. She wants her students to have research-based understanding on the sustainability challenges in their field, to be able to identify, define and tackle these. The abilities needed for this are tools for reframing and developing multiple solutions for a problem, ability to identify and develop feasible solutions bearing in mind people, profit and planet, and being able to provide own expertise in collaboratively solving a problem regardless of the field.
