Intensity-Motivation-graph

A visual way to track workload and motivation.

This tool provides a way for the students to track how hard they’re working and how they are feeling about the work at the same time, finding possible correlations and perhaps even causalities. It also helps teachers to understand if the workload is balanced throughout the course or project and provides an excellent starting point for discussions at the end of the course.

Example of an intensity-motivation -graph

Ask students to monitor their work intensity and motivation for the duration of a project or course and sketch a graph illustrating both using the template provided. Students should also write down key tasks and events each week to see how they affect motivation and intensity.
